WEDDING MEMORIES IN A PERSONALIZED BOOK | FINE ART WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER, TEXAS

As a photographer I always think about, how can I document the experience of my couples better, what will they want to see? What goes on while they are getting ready or taking family photos that my couples will want to see. A wedding day is full of beautiful happenings one of which is guests leaving their wishes for the newlyweds. And not just in spoken words or toasts given but in a personalized guest book that they sign for the bride and groom.

I often marvel at the genius ideas my couples have for presenting the personalized guest books, wether it is with something custom made or a little more basic but I know it is never an easy task to pick the perfect one in a sea of styles and designs out there. After all it needs to reflect the personality of a couple and be fun enough to stop the guests in their tracks so they leave a message before they proceed to the fun planned activities on the day.

ALEX & IRMA MILITARY HOMECOMING | FORT HOOD, TEXAS PHOTOGRAPHER

Most of the women I know are incredible, independent, strong willed individuals but the best ones always seem to be military spouses. These ladies in my life inspire me, drive me, and welcome me into their worlds, like a family member. We all share something beyond words, a way of life that is hard to explain and hard to understand but it is ok. We all seem to be a part of a clique almost bound by the job choices made by our loved ones. It is these choices that often leave me wondering how we get through this because in the outside world (the civilian world) a spouse gone for an extended time every few years is not the norm. But for us, military spouses it is something we expect, we understand (though sometimes I truly do not), and get through with grace (most of the time). We all understand the deployment curse all too well but we are also better for it because we find each other in the time of need and that support is worth more than gold.

JESSICA & THOMAS | KINDRED OAKS, GEORGETOWN WEDDING

truly believe that my clients are amazing. No matter what photography job they come to fulfill. And every person I meet I hope to make a friend. This was the case with Jessica when she first came to me to do a boudoir shoot for her future husband Thomas who was deployed at the time. Jess wanted to surprise him when he returned home from deployment. She wanted to make a memory before they said their “I Do”.

After we created an amazing boudoir book and Jess deployed herself, she contacted mid way through her tour me saying she wanted me to photograph her wedding amidst the Texas summer heat in the most beautiful venue of Kindred Oaks in Georgetown, TX. It was the biggest surprise and honor of all. Texas has been their home together and they wanted to tie the knot before they would get stationed overseas together (and so their families could attend their big day). So when Jessica was back we all met In the town of Gruene (New Braunfels) to photograph their engagement session and to have the best day out together. You can see it here.

NEW BRAUNFELS ENGAGEMENT | GRUENE, TEXAS FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

It is hard to put in words how I feel about Jess & Tom - they are the kind of people that walk into your life and make an impact, they stay in your life and they make it better.

I met Jess a year ago when she came to me wanting to do a boudoir session as a gift for her fiancé who then was deployed to Afghanistan. She wanted him to be surprised when he came home, as she herself was getting deployed and wouldn’t be home to greet him. It was something that took a lot of courage for Jess as she has never done this kind of shoot before and also she wanted to make it more than just memorable, she wanted him to be able to look at them and smile, thinking of their upcoming wedding.

Back then Jessica didn’t know if they will have time to have a big wedding, because she knew as soon as she gets back they will get orders to move somewhere else, but she told me she wanted to do a couple's shoot if at all possible.

DUSTY BLUE ELOPEMENT | FINEART WEDDING INSPIRATION, AUSTIN, TEXAS

Outside of photographing, one of my recent passions has been wedding invitation design. It gives me so much joy and creative freedom to design these and then get to style and photograph it. This suite was inspired by the blue tones of the gorgeous MrPrettySkirts gown and incorporated the idea of the location (situated over a dam of the StillhouseHollow Lake). This amazing location combined the blue skies and the blue-green waters and translated into my bridal suite creation.
