Read MoreIt was one of the coldest nights of the season. While the temperatures didn’t seem to be extreme, the wind was blistering. Cold hands, frozen fingers, sniffling noses, tearing eyes, but hearts on fire!
Read MoreThey waited for dad to get back. They waited to have that dance. And they got it all on Valentines Day. While delayed flights, cold weather, and constant changing of plans could make anyone anxious - this little girl and her mom were just pure happiness and nothing and no one could take that happiness away.

These ladies in my life inspire me, drive me, and welcome me into their worlds, like a family member. We all share something beyond words, a way of life that is hard to explain and hard to understand but it is ok. We all seem to be a part of a clique almost bound by the job choices made by our loved ones. It is these choices that often leave me wondering how we get through this because in the outside world (the civilian world) a spouse gone for an extended time every few years is not the norm. But for us, military spouses it is something we expect, we understand (though sometimes I truly do not), and get through with grace (most of the time). We all understand the deployment curse all too well but we are also better for it because we find each other in the time of need and that support is worth more than gold.
Read MoreIt is hard to put in words how I feel about Jess & Tom - they are the kind of people that walk into your life and make an impact, they stay in your life and they make it better.
I met Jess a year ago when she came to me wanting to do a boudoir session as a gift for her fiancé who then was deployed to Afghanistan. She wanted him to be surprised when he came home, as she herself was getting deployed and wouldn’t be home to greet him. It was something that took a lot of courage for Jess as she has never done this kind of shoot before and also she wanted to make it more than just memorable, she wanted him to be able to look at them and smile, thinking of their upcoming wedding.
Back then Jessica didn’t know if they will have time to have a big wedding, because she knew as soon as she gets back they will get orders to move somewhere else, but she told me she wanted to do a couple's shoot if at all possible.
